Agri-Tech Explore In-Person: Let There Be Light – Powering Plant Production
22 February 2022 @ 10:00 am - 2:00 pm
Photosynthesis is one of the most widespread processes on the planet, and yet it is hugely inefficient. Being unable to move into the sun, plants need all the help they can get to maximise their use of light and convert carbon dioxide into valuable storage products. With research underway to increase the efficiency of photosynthesis, and technologies to ensure optimal use of light, this event is an opportunity to learn more about the spectrum of solutions available to boost crop productivity and quality.
From controlled environment agriculture to open-field, we’ll be discussing innovations in lighting, glass technologies, leaf coatings and genetics are helping plants make the most of the light in their lives.
We know plants need light for photosynthesis, but innovations in lighting, glass technologies, leaf coatings and genetics are helping plants make the most of their light. Here we’ll explore a range of innovations which are enabling manipulation of plant performance through light technologies.
Agri-Tech Explore events are Agri-TechE’s monthly network meetings, including our Pollinator events as well as REAP and Innovation Hub. We want to ignite discussions following a topic deep dive with multiple specialists offering varied perspectives and expertise. Individuals from all sectors and disciplines welcome—whether you’re a grower, a researcher, a technical, professional service provider, an entrepreneur or completely new to the sector, come along and join in!
